The Department of Philosophy at Texas A&M University invites submission of papers for possible inclusion in a workshop on “Engineering and Animal Ethics.”  The deadline for submission of abstracts is October 31, 2016.

With funding from the Sue and Harry Bovay Chair for the History and Ethics of Professional Engineering and the College of Liberal Arts Cornerstone Fund, the workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, with a public lecture the evening before.

Authors of accepted papers will be reimbursed after the workshop for up to $500 in travel costs, with food and accommodations provided while in College Station. We anticipate accepting three or four submitted papers.

All papers presented at the workshop will be considered for publication in the Journal of Agricultural and Environment Ethics (with publication contingent on successful peer review).

Invited workshop presentations will be limited to 30 minutes, but papers may be up to 10,000 words. Copies of all papers will be distributed to participants ahead of the workshop.
