At the initiative of UNESCO, a group of international scholars in ethics education have created this global platform for exchange of experiences in the teaching of ethics. The IAEE will be organizing international conferences and other scholarly meetings. The first international conference will take place at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, USA.

The Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions will host the annual Teaching Research Ethics Workshop at the Indiana Memorial Union on the campus of Indiana University Bloomington, May 15-18, 2012. Session topics will include an overview of ethical theory, trainee and authorship issues, conflicts of interest, using human subjects in clinical and non-clinical research, and responsible data management. Many sessions will feature techniques for teaching and assessing the responsible conduct of research. As our understanding of climate change and its far-reaching ramifications continues to grow, it is imperative for climate change researchers to form strong collaborative bonds that reach across disciplines and other boundaries. Every year the DISsertations initiative for the advancement of Climate Change ReSearch (DISCCRS, pronounced discourse) hosts a symposium for early-career climate change researchers. The goal is to catalyze international, interdisciplinary collaboration while laying the foundation for dynamic, communicative collegial networks that are better-equipped to understand and respond to the myriad challenges posed by climate change. The application deadline is February 29, 2012.
