they move through education, industry, and academia. Here we
offer abstracts of some of the key literature. Some studies
deal with mathematics, as well as science and engineering,
because it is often possible to generalize from one area of
scientific work to another. Information is organized using
three indexes. The same abstract may appear in two or three
of the indexes.

his experiences in addressing ethics topics in engineering
education in Portugal.
- Why There Are No Engineering Ethics in France: A Historical Interpretation
- By Christelle Didier. According to Didier, a historical
investigation suggests that the profession of engineering in
France was not an organized one. This "scattering" of the
profession has led to the absence of a discourse
representative of French engineers. Ultimately, Didier
argues, professional ethics as a discipline has been
underdeveloped in France.

aspects of the engineering relationships between Canada,
Mexico and the United States under the North American Free
